Litchi – Mauritius
Fruit: Known for its medium-sized, sweet and flavorful fruit ranging from 2.5 to 3.8 cm in diameter. When ripe, the skin of the Mauritius litchi is reddish-pink to deep red. The color can vary depending on factors such as climate and maturity. It has a sweet, aromatic, and slightly floral flavor with a hint of tartness.
Light: Litchi trees prefer full sun exposure, needing at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to produce high-quality fruit.
Watering: Mauritius litchi trees require regular and consistent watering, especially during dry spells and when the fruit is developing. Proper irrigation is crucial for fruit quality.
Height: Mauritius litchi trees are typically medium-sized and can reach heights 6 to 12 meters or more when mature.
Temperature: Mauritius litchi require warm temperatures with no frost to produce fruit.
